A family friend made this turon. Chef Bernice Yap is a chef in Burj Al Arab, Dubai. The Burj is the hotel with the famous sailboat silhouette.
I literally fell off my seat when I took a bite of this turon. Filo sheets are used instead of lumpia wrapper which gave a flaky, buttery taste to this turon pastry. Crushed peanuts and brown sugar were spread between each layer of filo wrap while the filling is made of firm bananas and macapuno strips. The best turon ever….

Hi Arpee :
Hi Arpee :
The secret is in the filo wrapper 😉 And you need to consume it within the day or the wrapper isn’t too crunchy anymore.
Good luck!
